It’s quite fair to say that there seems to be no sign of our entrancement with the monarchy abating, at least for the foreseeable future. With our new Kings Coronation imminent it seems like a wonderful time to have a brief look at skincare inspired by royalty. Many members of the Royal family are great outdoors people so great influencers of a natural perspective on skincare.

Vitamin C Boost

It’s no secret that Catherine, Princess of Wales had a pretty rough time through all three of her pregnancies suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness. This obviously has a huge impact on the body of the sufferer and can be very dangerous, it causes nutrient loss and dehydration which also has a very negative effect on the skin. A really heavy hitter in the skincare world is necessary as a result and the Princess was a big fan of Rosehip oil during all of her pregnancies, it’s full of vitamin C and E which are two of the most powerful antioxidants available. Rosehip oil is also full of essential fatty acids which improve the skin’s moisture, tone, texture as well as the look of pigmentation all great for skin while pregnant. Eminence Triple C+E Firming Oil is a nourishing, hydrating and firming oil that boosts collagen and fights against free radical damage.

As a natural and organic line Eminence products are free from all harmful chemicals but as everyone is unique, we advise that pregnant clients check with their doctor or healthcare practitioner to ensure there are no contraindications relevant to them. We generally suggest that pregnant clients avoid stimulating products as their skin may be more sensitive during pregnancy.

Don’t Forget The Hands!

When one has a duty to shake hands on a grand scale it stands to reason that one has to look after ones hands! I know she wasn’t a member of the British Royal Family, but the late Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly was a bona fide Hollywood princess before becoming a real-life Princess when she married Ranier III Prince of Monaco in 1956. She was also a great beauty who aged exceptionally well before her tragic car crash in 1982 at the age of just 52. While the hands are not necessarily swiftly apparent as an area to display age, they can be very revealing. As Kelly wisely put it herself when asked why she never went anywhere without hand cream “A woman’s age shows much quicker on her hands than anywhere else.”

If you really want to treat your hands try Eminence Mangosteen Replenishing Hand Cream, with each application it’s silky formula gently resurfaces revealing soft, youthful skin and provides long-lasting hydration.

Lavish Lavender

Lavender is soothing and softening, its scent helps improve sleep and it is naturally antibacterial meaning that it kills acne-causing bacteria that might infiltrate your pores. The purple flower can also help even skin tone and reduce wrinkles so you can see that this is an extremely positive force in the skincare world. Speaking of positive forces, our fabulous late Queen loved lavenders fresh smell so much that lavender soap is stocked inside the Royal Palaces. In fact, the multi-talented herb was so important in the Queens long life that it even played a significant role in her funeral. Among the flowers adorning her coffin was Pine from Balmoral and Lavender and Rosemary from Windsor, Her Majesty’s most beloved homes.

Eminence Age Corrective Night Concentrate is an overnight treatment that hydrates and replenishes your skin’s appearance. Rich argan oil, jojoba oil and shea butter improve the look of your skin’s density and aid in reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Eminence Lavender Age Corrective Night Eye Cream is a rich, nourishing eye cream that will help diminish the visible signs of ageing overnight. Lavender and evening primrose provide aromatherapy benefits while the unique Anti-Aging Stem Cell Complex fight the appearance of crow’s feet and leaves skin looking radiant.

King and Countryside

This list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the King himself! I can’t see it becoming a trend to see Charles discussing his skincare habits in magazines any time in the near future but we can only imagine based on his interests and habits! King Charles III was an extremely proud and committed eco-warrior long before it ever became cool. He has been a long time committed champion of the great British countryside even when it drew gasps and eye stretches from the general public. The Kings stepson Tom Parker-Bowles is a great admirer of his mother’s husband saying, “People were calling him sort of mad and eccentric 20 years ago, everything that he’s talked about are now things that have hit the mainstream and now we’re really worrying about.” This really does sum it up in a nutshell, the King has led from the front managing the estate at Highgrove organically and sustainably for years.

It is rather fitting to turn to Charles for skincare inspiration and how our skincare habits could reflect His Majesty’s own love of all things horticultural and natural. It’s not a stretch to find a few product examples to best display this among Eminences collection. I don’t think it’s wrong to assume that the King would love to take a walk through the gardens and meadows of the Eminence Organic Farm and would certainly have an affinity to a company with the overview “Since our inception in 1958, we have been using sustainable farming and green practices to create natural, organic and Biodynamic® products.”

Eminence Facial Recovery Oil is organic and  Biodynamic®, it’s a toning and hydrating oil created with precious herbs and nourishing oils to soothe and renew sensitive and aging skin. This is a luxurious facial oil suitable for all skin types. Loved by celebrities this product has the nickname “liquid gold”!

Eminence Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturiser soothes irritation and hydrates sensitive skin with calming chamomile, arnica and rosemary. Combine those elements with shea butter and calendula oil, and this moisturiser will help relieve the appearance of redness.

We think Charles would heartily approve of all these powerful natural ingredients!

Coronation Quiche

The official Coronation dish is this delicious quiche full of great tasting, vitamin packed greens such as Spinach and Broad Beans. It’s a true nod to our nature loving King and can be eaten hot or cold with boiled New Potatoes and a fresh green salad. The perfect thing for a big Coronation lunch!!

Our own personal skincare nod to the Coronation Quiche can be fulfilled with our Eight Greens range which improve the appearance of problem skin including hormonal outbreaks, targets the look of fine lines and wrinkles and leaves the skin looking firm, fresh and smooth. The Eight Greens in question are Yucca Extract, Flaxseed Extract, Hops Extract, Horsetail, Lavender, Red Clover, Stone Crop and Paprika all fit for the Kings garden!
