Let’s kick off 2024 with skin you’ll completely adore! So how do you get an adorable complexion that would be the envy of everyone?

Here are some simple steps you can follow to keep your skin in tip top shape throughout 2024.

  1. Identify Your Concerns!

First things first – most of us have a thing or two … or more! … that we would change about our skin. You may feel your skin is a little dull, or you’d like less wrinkles, maybe your pores seem enlarged, or you have some areas of uneven skin tone. Whatever your concerns are, identifying them is the first step towards improving them. Take a good look in the mirror and make a note of anything that you would like to improve. Most issues in our skin can be helped with the right skin care routine.

First identify your skin type (dry, normal, oily, combination, sensitive, mature), once you know this you can then look at any skin concerns you have such as breakouts, dehydration, wrinkles, redness, puffy eyes, dark circles, uneven skin tone, large pores etc. Your Skin type may relate to your skin concern such as: oily skin also suffering with breakouts and maybe large pores!

Next you can try a skin routine “quiz” just like this one you can see in the picture below and found at www.eminenceorganics.com to find your natural skin care solutions and help you build your skin care routine: and here’s some great tips on skin conditions and concerns - https://eminenceorganics.com/us/skin-conditions

2. Make Sure You Do The Basics

We know that a lot of you live really busy lives and the thought of finding time to look after your skin can seem too much, so keep it simple and at least do the basics every day.

Cleanse | Tone | Moisturise

This simple routine will really make a difference in your skin, especially if you aren’t doing much for it right now.

Cleansing away dirt, impurities, make-up, sunscreen etc. will instantly give your skin a healthier glow. It also helps to reduce the chances of a breakout or two because it wasn’t cleansed. The action of cleansing is quite stimulating to the circulation and as such the increased blood flow means increased oxygen and nutrients being bought to your skin which in turn helps heal and nourish your complexion as well.

Toning removes any residue of cleanser, balances your skins pH and in the case of using an alcohol free Tonique from Eminence, will also hydrate and start healing your skin too. You should always tone after cleansing and a great tip for our Eminence Toniques is you can use them to set your make-up too!

Moisturising is such a vital part of a healthy skin care routine as your moisturiser helps treat and heal your skin as well as locking in vital moisture to keep it plumped, hydrated and glowing. Even if you feel your skin doesn’t need a moisturiser it does! You can find light-weight moisturisers that feel weightless on your skin but still pack a punch when it comes to protecting and repairing your skins barrier function. Plus, you can find moisturisers with SPF in them so you can protect your skin from harmful UV rays as well.

Now, if you can stretch to doing this simple routine twice a day you really are on to a winner, cleansing, toning and moisturising when you wake and before bed ensures your skin is clean and ready to go.

3. Treat Your Skin To A Masque And Or A Serum

If you find the basic routine is doing quite well but you still need a little extra, then the addition of a masque 2-3 times per week or a daily serum or concentrate will be the next step to giving you that adorable skin. Masks and serums are formulated with a high concentration of beneficial ingredients designed to help correct your concerns. There is a mask and a serum for every type of skin type, condition and concern, so you can definitely find one to help your skin. A serum or concentrate is really easy and quick as you apply them daily under your moisturiser, masques may take a little longer but are worth it. Some tips to incorporate a mask into your weekly routine are - apply when you are in the bath, then you can lay back and relax while your mask is on. Another tip with Eminence’s creamy masques is to apply them at night instead of your night cream 2-3 times/week. Apply a thin layer and by the time you go to bed most of it will have absorbed into you skin already. If you are concerned about your bed linens use an old pillowcase to protect them. When you wake in the morning the magic will have happened while you were sleeping and you just cleanse, tone, moisturise as normal.

4. If You Can, Enjoy A Professional Treatment

This is a little more indulgent but definitely worth every penny! Professional treatments not only provide you with expert advice, but they will also make sure you are using the right products at home. There are some professional only products and treatments that you can’t use at home that can instantly improve your skin, this unique option means you get a more intensive treatment with better results when you see a skincare expert. Plus of course the obvious, a professional facial treatment is extremely relaxing.

Your skincare expert is best for advising how often you should receive your professional treatment but generally once a month is thought to be ideal.
