Autumn Skincare Tips

We all love a crisp, autumn walk through the crunchy leaves to boost our mind, body and soul, but the cold windy weather can wreak havoc on your skin leaving it feeling dull, dry and dehydrated. Here are some of our tips to help revive and replenish your complexion to keep you glowing all season long.

1. CLEANSE

As temperatures drop, humidity levels do too and our skin loses moisture to the dry air.  Swapping your light cleanser for something a little more hydrating like Stone Crop Gel Wash  will help deep cleanse without any drying effects.

2. EXFOLIATE

A common misconception is thinking that exfoliation can exacerbate dryness, but in reality, it can be the best way to treat parched, flaky skin.

After all the summer sun, your complexion can begin to look dehydrated and sallow, so it’s important to get rid of dead damaged cells thus prepping your skin to absorb more moisture and improve the effectiveness of nourishing products.  We recommend Yam & Pumpkin Enzyme Peel to slough off dead skin cells and reduce pigmentation to leave skin firm and radiant.

3.  TREAT

Always applied your moisturiser right after cleansing? Try adding a serum, essence or facial oil to help treat and support your skin during the changing season.  Why not try  Birch Water Purifying Essence to hydrate and help protect from free radical damage, or Facial Recovery Oil to calm redness, irritation and boost hydration.

4. MOISTURISE

Finish your autumn routine with hydrating moisturiser. Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream is a lightweight intensely hydrating moisturiser which stimulates collagen production, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone and calms irritations leaving skin softer, clearer and brighter.

5. DON'T FORGET YOUR LIPS

Often the first to feel the cold (hello chapped and flaky!) it’s important to add a layer of protective hydration.  Kiss dry lips goodbye with Rosehip & Lemongrass Lip Balm SPF15 - rosehip oil soothes weather-ravaged lips while rejuvenating lavender helps restore softness.

6. HYDRATE FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Many of us still don’t drink enough water and this can cause skin to become dry and flaky. Drinking 2 litres of water per day is an essential way to protect your skin from succumbing to autumn dullness.
