1. Chocolate

Chocolate comes in many forms, and I want to talk to you about the amazing Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque! It probably won’t be all like you would imagine, except for the delightful smell.  It dries out on the skin without feeling too tight, or overly creamy and leaves the skin looking really smoothed and refreshed. Visible signs of ageing are reduced, skin appears firmed and plumped and appearance of wrinkle depth and fine lines are reduced, it really is a rather unusual and fabulous mask. It has an impressive list of antioxidant, nourishing and hydrating ingredients:

  • Cocoa: high in flavanols (an antioxidant found particularly in cocoa), antioxidant, skin smoother
  • Macadamia Nut Oil: moisturizing toner, softening
  • Almond Oil: vitamin rich moisturizer and conditioner
  • Jojoba Oil: nourishing and hydrating
  • Ginseng: revitalizing
  • Vitamin E: hydrating antioxidant
  • Vitamin C: antioxidant

It’s simple to use and doesn’t take a lot of time just emulsify a small amount of mask in your hand with a few drops of water. Apply evenly over the entire face as well as the neck and décolleté areas if desired. Allow the mask to dry 5–10 minutes then gently scrub off in a circular motion with a lukewarm face cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clear water.

You can also replace your night moisturiser 1-2 times a week with a masque, much as I’d like to suggest chocolate (which would have an absolutely fantastic effect on the skin) I’m going to be sensible and suggest something that might show up less!! You can use an old pillowcase or towel to protect your pillow (we’d suggest doing this whichever masque you choose) so if you feel like giving it a go you won’t lose. I think Strawberry Rhubarb Masque is an intensely hydrating & replenishing masque for normal to dry skin types and an exceptional night shift worker!!

Here are some tips for using an overnight mask:

  • Replace your regular night cream with a night mask one to two times per week.
  • Start 15-30 minutes before bedtime.
  • Cleanse, tone, and apply an essence.
  • Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, neck, and décolletage.
  • Use a towel to protect your pillow.
  • In the morning, rinse off the mask and finish with your favourite serum and SPF Day cream.
